DOCUMENTATION FOR THE ADMISSION

Applicants for admission to this Doctoral Programme must provide, in addition to what is indicated on the Doctoral School's website, the following documents:
 
· CURRICULUM VITAE with supporting documents, stating the following information: the student's complete address postal, a contact telephone number and email address; the Master's or postgraduate programmes and courses followed and passed by the student and related to research interests; the student's previous scientific production (scientific articles, conference communications); participation in research projects; obtaining research grants; and level of English.
 
· LETTER including an expression of interest showing the objective, methodology initially proposed and line of research of the Doctoral Programme related to the project. This expression of interest, with a minimum length of 500 words and a maximum of 2000 words, must reflect the objectives/hypothesis of the research project, the methodology to be developed (study design, variables and their measurement, and planned procedure) and the research line of the program in which the project would be developed. This document must indicate the signed approval of a researcher as thesis supervisor. The suitability of this expression of interest to the lines of the program as well as the signed approval of the supervisor is an essential requirement for admission. In addition to this expression of interest, the doctoral student may also explain his/her motivation for undertaking the doctorate with a maximum length of 200 words.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE THESIS MODALITY AS A COMPENDIUM OF PUBLICATIONS 

To present a thesis in the Doctoral Programme in Global Health: Determinants and interaction of human, animal and environmental health, at the University of Zaragoza (UZ), the doctoral student, in addition to meeting the general requirements of the UZ, must submit an article derived from the data of his/her thesis, published or accepted for publication at the time of deposit of the same for its defence.

The doctoral student must appear as the 1st author of said article that must be published or accepted in a journal indexed in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) in the SCIE or SSCI categories.

Doctoral students who, prior to the presentation of their thesis and with the express authorisation of their supervisor(s):

  1. Have published or accepted for publication, after the start of their doctoral studies, a minimum number of four articles with thematic unity and derived from the data of their thesis.
  2. Of these, only one may be for review (in any of its modalities) and three must be original articles.
  3. At least three of the articles must be published in scientific journals whose impact index is included in the list of JCR journals in the SCIE and SSCI categories.
  4. The doctoral student must appear as a 1st in at least two of them that must be JCR.

In general, the requirements set out here will be required - at the time of applying for admission to the thesis - of doctoral students enrolled for the first time in the doctoral programme in the 2026-2027 academic year and beyond.
