- Choose a research field from one of the Doctoral Programs that fits the candidateprofile as a research trainee.
- Contact the person responsible for the field to be accepted to complete the doctoral thesis work in that research field.
- Apply for enrolment in the doctorate program by filling in this FORM. You will need to submit the PDF form to the University of Lleida’s Registry.
- Attach the documentation listed in the application, including the acceptance of the tutor.
- Request the equivalence of the master degree if it was obtained abroad.
How international students can submit an AUTHORISED PDF FORM to the University of Lleida’s Registry?
The 5% of each doctoral program places will be reserved for students who have a degree of disability equal or greater than 33%. If these places were not covered, they would be offered to the rest of students.
At the moment of formalizing the admission (or the enrollment), the student must prove the degree of disability, providing the certificate of disability issued by the competent administration.

4. When accessing with official postgraduate university studies taken abroad it is necessary to provide
4.1 Application for declaration of equivalence of the postgraduate qualification to master's degree level
4.2 Certificate from the foreign university where the master’s course was taken, indicating: that these studies provide authorization for access to the research phase of the doctorate, in the country where this university is located and that they correspond to EQF Level 7 of the European Qualifications Framework.

7. Translations of the academic documents (degrees and official academic transcripts)
- Foreign documents must be accompanied by an official translation into Spanish, Catalan or English if they are written in another language. This translation can be rendered:
- By any diplomatic or consular representation of Spain abroad.
- By the diplomatic or consular representation in Spain of the country of which the applicant is a subject or, if applicable, of the document-issuing country.
- By sworn translators duly authorised or registered in Spain.
1 All of the documentation which is submitted for access and admission may be scanned copies of the original documents, but the certified copies or the originals to be certified must be provided at the time of registering for the doctorate.
2 For studies completed at the UdL, it is only necessary to present the academic transcript which accredits the corresponding details.

REQUERIMENTS
Students wishing to access a doctoral programme verified by RD 99/2011, must meet the requirements laid down in Article 6, amended by Royal Decree 576/2023, of July 4, which modifies Royal Decree 99/2011, of January 28, which regulates official doctoral studies.
Article 6. Requirements for access to a doctorate.
- In general, access to an official doctoral programme is available to persons in possession of a Spanish official bachelor's degree, or equivalent, and a university master's degree.
- Likewise, those who are in any of the following situations may access the programme:
a) Be in possession of official Spanish university degrees or equivalent Spanish degrees, provided that at least 300 ECTS credits have been passed in the set of these courses and accredit a level 3 of the Spanish Framework of Qualifications for Higher Education.
b) Be in possession of a degree obtained in accordance with foreign educational systems belonging to the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), without the need for its homologation, which accredits a level 7 of the European Qualifications Framework, provided that said degree qualifies for access to doctoral studies in the country in which it was issued. This admission will not imply, in any case, the homologation of the previous degree held by the interested party or its recognition for purposes other than access to doctoral studies.
c) Possession of a degree obtained in accordance with foreign educational systems other than the EHEA, without the need for its homologation, after verification by the university that it accredits a level of training equivalent to that of the official Spanish Master's degree and that it qualifies in the country of issue of the degree for access to doctoral studies. This admission will not imply, in any case, the homologation of the previous degree held by the interested party or its recognition for purposes other than access to doctoral studies.
d) Possession of another Doctorate degree.
e) University graduates who, after obtaining a training place in the corresponding access test for specialized health training places, have successfully completed at least two years of training in a program to obtain an official degree in one of the specialties in Health Sciences, may also access the programme.
